Alvaro Morata has adapted well to Premier League - Antonio Conte

Morata showing Chelsea were right to trust him with filling Costa's boots

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has immediately turned his focus to his side's pivotal Champions League match against Atlético Madrid, sparing little time for expressing joy at his side's 4-0 Premier League thrashing of Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

"This league is not easy, especially for the striker", he explained.

"Maybe they don't have that ability with the dark arts right on spec at the moment". "I am pleased with the team also because it means we are creating chances for our strikers to take".

His three strikes against Stoke however came off his boot.

Morata could have scored a double brace when he was played through on goal by Eden Hazard but his shot was inches wide.

"Now he is involved totally in our style of football and our idea and he is very strong", Conte said. I think it is good for the game.

I don't see a problem. Conte thinks that Hazard is ready to start against Atletico Madrid, but he also warned that he needs to be conifident the player will be ready to compete from the start in the biggest games.

"If I make this decision [to start Hazard at Atletico] it is because I am comfortable with this decision".

Tammy Abraham, the player who spurned Nigeria's advances this week, scored his second league goal of the season for Swansea who lost 2-1 to Watford that had Isaac Success on the bench for the whole encounter. "We want to fight in every competition we are playing", Conte added.

Raheem Sterling scored twice as Manchester City cruised to a 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace, who are still yet to score a goal in the Premier League this season. "This game is very hard - I remember last season". The players are fit and now it's important to rest and recover well for the game on Wednesday and not forgetting we have another tough game on Saturday against Manchester City'.
