Barely a dozen shoppers queue for launch of Apple's iPhone 8

iPhone 8 Arrives

Control Centre has a plethora of quick toggles, created to allow users to quickly change a few key settings including activating the flashlight, turning off screen rotation and controlling the display's brightness.

To truly disconnect, users instead need to go to the Settings to disconnect Bluetooth and WiFi completely.

Apple has made changes in iOS 11 that push its devices towards Wi-Fi and Bluetooth being enabled by default, which may make users more vulnerable to attacks. The Bluetooth toggle operates in a similar fashion. They are left in the background running to keep features like the file transfer, AirDrop, geolocation services and communications with an Apple Watch intact. For a lot of users, switching off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi from Control Center means switching them off completely.

In case you didn't know, Apple stopped supporting 32-bit apps with the release of iOS 11.

The iOS 11 Control Center looks great, but apparently, its buttons for the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features do not work the way that most users would think they do.

Apple is yet to confirm what exactly the technical issue was or when the next patch or update will be rolled out.

A number of users noticed the two connections were still turned on after accessing the settings icon, the one that sits near messages, utilities and calendar. It also appears that going into the Activity app on your iPhone will speed things up a bit, as the iOS 11 restore process seems to prioritize restoring data fro iCloud for apps that are actually in use.

Turning off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth has other, more known, benefits. You'll also disconnect from whatever Wi-Fi network you were using, and won't be able to automatically join other nearby networks.

So, what do we do to bring up the app switching/multi-tasking screen you ask? Both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both reactivated every time a device is restarted and at 5 a.m. local time-which Apple provides no specific explanation for.
