Deputies: Pasco women beat female driver unconscious in road rage encounter

A Florida woman and her stepmother pulled a driver through her auto window and beat her unconscious in an apparent road-rage incident.

According to cops, Shelley Gemberling, 49, and her boyfriend's 20-year-old daughter, Alicia Scarduzio, precipitated a road rage incident that has to be seen to be believed.

Video recorded by a witness showed Bailey on the ground -motionless- while Scarduzio hit her.

Scarduzio and Gemberling were arrested and charged with aggravated battery and burglary.

"The mom, definitely, when I saw her look into my eyes, she was at a rage where I've never seen before", Bailey told the station. Eventually a man appears to run over to stop the beating.

Investigators with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office say mother and daughter, Shelley Lyn Gemberling, 49, and Alicia Nicole Scarduzio, 20, got into an argument with Emily Bailey at an intersection in New Port Richey.

Sheriff's deputies arrested Scarduzio and Gemberling on Wednesday.

Gemberling had then reached in through the window, and grabbed Bailey round the throat, while Scarduzio yanked her hair, she told police.

The victim, who suffered multiple injuries, including a broken nose was taken to the hospital.

Gemberling denied pulling the woman out of her auto. They continued to hit her until another citizen intervened.

They refute Bailey's account and claim Bailey had got out and pushed her. The witness said she did not see Bailey strike the suspects at any time, but did see the suspects strike her.

Pasco Sheriff's Capt. Stephen Hartnett said at the time he was looking into whether deputies turned down cell phone video and said charges had not yet been filed because the women involved were accusing each other of starting the fight.
