Hellboy movie set to be released in January 2019

David Harbour then that, in addition to its role in Stranger Things, has the stature to play the title role. The film will be directed by Neil Marshall who is best known for his work on the 2005 horror movie "The Descent".

First appearing in Dark Horse comics beginning in 1993, Hellboy is a demon summoned from Hell by the Nazi occultists near the end of World War II. Del Toro and Perlman, despite producing two moderately successful "Hellboy" films, were perhaps limited in how much they could take from Hellboy's dark comic books.

Daniel Dae Kim recently took over for Ed Skrein as Ben Daimio after backlash over whitewashing accusations surrounding the Japanese-American character.

These four new deluxe editions chronicling the misadventures of the very big horned hellion will showcase every Hellboy story written and illustrated by Mignola, including Mignola's team-up with illustrator Duncan Fegredo.

Some fans are disappointed the film is getting a reboot.

One of the things that fans are sure to notice right off the bat is Hellboy's iconic Fist of Doom. "Hellboy" also stars Deadwood star Ian McShane as Professor Broom, Milla Jovovich as the villainous Blood Queen, Sasha Lane as Alice, and Penelope Mitchell as the old witch Ganeida.

Now that the controversy and backlash are out of the way, Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen is back on track.

A day after Lionsgate revealed a first look as David Harbour as the demonic hero, the studio announced that the reboot from director Neil Marshall (The Descent, Game of Thrones) will arrive in theaters on January 11, 2019.
