Walt Disney World reopening today after Irma

While the park has closed down for the day in the pass, all due to hurricane weather, it's never closed for two days.

Unless you've somehow avoided the news for the past week, you know that there is very intense hurricane traveling through Florida right now.

The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye, the observation wheel on International Drive, remains closed.

A spokesperson for the theme park said that they "are beginning an initial assessment of our property. While we experienced high winds and rain, we maintained power throughout the storm". The park closed down on Sunday and Monday, leaving only resorts and hotels open.

"Plus our hotel has electricity", he said.

The donation comes after Disney raised nearly $16 million to help relief after Hurricane Harvey, which devastated Houston, TX and the surrounding areas.

Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom are scheduled to operate on their normal hours Tuesday. "As soon as we heard about the hurricane, we immediately tried to move up the time of our departure". "This is in addition to almost $16 million we raised after Hurricane Harvey to help ensure storm victims have the support needed to recover and rebuild".

At least, Pingel wasn't alone.

Several Floridians posted videos to social media of catfish attempting to swim along city streets in the greater Orlando area as Irma caused extensive flooding in the state.

"For adults, there were quiz night challenges and, for kids, there were chances to play arcade games for free", he said.

"The park overall is pretty quiet, so we plan to hit all the rides that we can".

"Right now, we're slated to fly back home on Tuesday", he said.
