Tom Savage or DeShaun Watson

Jaelen Strong back with Texans after serving suspension

Jacksonville walked into Houston and left with an eye-opening 29-7 win to start the season 1-0.

Watson was reportedly spotted limping Sunday night with an ankle injury.

The Texans are going with Watson for multiple reasons, including his superior mobility and elusiveness while operating behind a porous offensive line.

On Sunday, the rookie was 12-of-23 for 102 yards with a touchdown and an interception against the Jaguars and led the Texans down the field on his first National Football League drive, throwing a 4-yard scoring pass to DeAndre Hopkins for the Texans' only points.

I have to figure out how I can get these guys to play faster. The rookie then sparked the Texans' only touchdown drive of the game in the third period, capping it with a scoring strike to DeAndre Hopkins. He finished the contest 12-of-23 for 102 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in the loss.

Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said that Cincinnati is preparing for Watson to start, according to Wilson. Watson is the ninth quarterback to play for Houston in the past five years as the team has struggled to find a consistent signal caller.

Savage went 7 of 13 for 62 yards but was sacked six times and lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.

But throughout the preseason, the Texans insisted Watson was the backup to starter Tom Savage.

O'Brien is hoping he won't continue to have a revolving door under center.

"Right now we're just trying to figure it out", O'Brien said. "Look, I haven't even met with the players yet".
