Ted Cruz 'likes' Twitter porn video

Image Cruz leaves after a vote at the Capitol in Washington

Nicole's Twitter account is absent from any indication that she's aware of the video's virality, and her Instagram is private.

Cruz wouldn't conclusively say whether or not the staff member's access to his official Twitter account would be blocked, noting only that it's "still being discussed".

This is not the first time Cruz's office has been involved in controversy related to pornography: During his 2016 campaign, one of his advertisements featured an actress who had appeared in pornographic films.

Cruz addressed the notoriety Tuesday, even joking about it before answering questions from reporters on Capitol Hill: "This is not how I envisioned waking up this morning".

According to the senator, "a number of people" have access to the account and one of them inadvertently highlighted the video.

Cruz went on to joke about the situation, remarking that past year he should have posted "something like this back during the IN primary".

Well, someone definitely pulled something.

Cruz said Tuesday the staffer made a mistake.

The screenwriter behind Hangover Part II and III continued, "Sadly, the fact that Ted Cruz jacks off to mediocre porn spam is the most human thing we can say about him". Though it sounds terribly unlikely that a malicious hacker would take over Cruz's account just to like a single porn video. The unabashedly far-right Senator, who runs on a family values platform and is often referred to as the "most hated" person in Congress, was reamed on Twitter.

Mazin tweeted, "Now imagine Ted Cruz is doing this four feet below you in the bottom bunk bed".

"Did Ted Cruz's Twitter account "like" a porn clip?" they tweeted.

Because of the errant like, Ted Cruz was the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter overnight.
