MASSive News as Ubisoft Announces New IP Atomega

Moments ago, Ubisoft dropped the surprise announcement alongside the trailer and screenshots you see above. Collecting mass will allow players to rack up points, and the players' main goal is to gain more points per round than their competitors.

Grow, fight, collect and evade in the last cosmic arena the very end of time.

Atomega has a simple design and structure to its gameplay, but to give the game such a dystopian ennui in the machinations of these Exoforms show off the creative flexibility these Ubisoft developers bring to the table in this experimental game.

Playing as a "super advanced post-biological lifeform" called an Exoform (it's a cube, pretty much), you'll be competing for mass against seven other players.

Atomega is reportedly set at the end of time where "reality is rapidly dissolving and the universe is coming apart".

Depression aside, Atomega looks to be an adorable shooter with plenty of strategy available, depending on if you want to play the powerful but easily targeted huge mech or the tiny but agile single block.

Each round will be 10 minutes long, with up to eight players fighting each other for the most mass.

According to Ubisoft, Atomega came from the same internal incubator program that saw the creation of indie darlings Grow Home and Grow Up, and will launch as a digital only title on September 19th 2017.
