Frankfurt 2017: Turbo Version of the New Porsche Cayenne Debuts

Frankfurt Motor Show 2017: Porsche introduces all-new Cayenne

That's 0.4sec faster than its predecessor and 0.2sec faster than the previous Cayenne Turbo S.

An adaptive rear roof spoiler serves three different functions, depending on how the Cayenne Turbo is driven.

The new 2019 Cayenne Turbo will be available in Canada next summer with pricing starting from $139,700. Driveline as par for the Cayenne course is all-wheel drive, receiving the engine's output via an eight-speed Tiptronic S torque converter automatic transmission. Turbo models get an exclusive front end and LED main headlights of the Porsche Dynamic Light System.

Performance numbers are 0-60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package and a top speed of 177 miles per hour. The system has six selectable height levels and five driving modes configured for on- and off-road performance. Yep, the Cayenne has an adaptive rear spoiler - the first time such a thing has been fitted on an SUV according to Porsche - and when it's not adding downforce or position to increase efficiency, it's able to tilt up and increase drag considerably.

Porsche wants to make sure driver engagement is at the very top, so opted for a more responsive setup for the engine with a new exhaust turbocharger fitment, shortened exhaust paths between the combustion chambers and the turbos as well as a modified layout of the powerplant for a lower center of gravity.

Around the back, the V8-powered Cayenne also gets white painted rear bumper trim and door trim to go with the signature Turbo quad rectangular exhaust tailpipes. Staggered tire sizes measure 285/40 in front and 315/35 in rear, and the performance-oriented rubber is wrapped around exclusive 21-inch aluminum wheels. Also helping the cause are the tungsten carbine layer applied to the steel disc brakes, while you can also opt for ceramic composite brakes that are optional.

If you're in love with the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo, you can place your order in December of 2017, but you'll need to wait until the fall of 2018 to take delivery.

Inside is a modern and luxury decor, with a high-res touch-screen and display for most controls, with tunes pumped through a 710-Watt Bose surround sound system as standard. The SUV will start at $125,650, including destination charges.
