Former Alabama LB Reuben Foster to miss time due to injury

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's 23-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Quarterback Brian Hoyer was under pressure nearly constantly, and the Niners never really got their outside-zone running game going.

The Panthers capitalized by moving the ball just 27 yards to set up a field goal. But on 4th-and-1, fullback Kyle Juszczyk ran up the middle and was stopped for no gain. He did record three tackles before his injury.

As Shanahan alluded to, this is not the first time that the 37-year-old has lost his temper with an official. The 49ers took over after safety Jaquiski Tartt made a one-handed interception and 37-yard return to the 49ers' 38-yard line.

"[Head athletic trainer Jeff Ferguson] didn't give me an exact date because we don't know exactly with Reuben", Shanahan said.

The Panthers took over at their own 45 with 42 seconds to go in the first half and marched to the 49ers' 18. We were down seven. "I wanted to go back out there".

Richardson finished his first game with the Seahawks posting a respectable 77.2 PFF grade, finishing with four tackles and one quarterback hit.

As the offensive coordinator for the Falcons, Shanahan twice eschewed conservative running plays in the fourth quarter for pass plays that ended in disaster.

Shanahan was shown on TV berating down judge Hugo Cruz. "I've made that mistake before", said Shanahan of the tantrum. Back in 2012, while he was serving as offensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins, he was fined $25,000 by the National Football League for pursuing replacement officials off the field. "I respect him for that", Buckner added.

"That's big time from your head coach. I think we're all disappointed because there was a number of times that we could have had a chance to be in that game and we just came up short". It's not his fault. "Hope he has no hard feelings towards it". We've worked with him hard in the meeting rooms and stuff.

"There are a lot of clips there you could see where we had opportunities that we missed on, especially early", Shanahan said.
