One in custody after 'active-shooter' case at NH hospital

The Lebanon Department of Public Safety confirmed that someone was taken into custody shortly before 3 p.m. following reports of an active shooter at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. It is not clear if the lockdown has been lifted. WMUR, a local TV station, though, reports there has been "no confirmation of shooting".

Workers received an email earlier in the afternoon from the hospital for a "code silver", which means employees need to get out of the hospital if possible or if they can not leave, then they should shelter in place. Traffic in the area has been stopped on routes leading to the Hospital, Associated Press reported.

One person is in custody after an active-shooter report at a New Hampshire hospital, according to the city's website.

"Code silver" indicates that a violent situation is unfolding.

With state police and the attorney general are responding to the incident but are only go so far as to call the incident an "active investigation".

Hospital officials sent a statement to Local 22 & Local 44 saying the campus is on lockdown and a shelter in place order has been issued.
