Bonacquisti, who dominated the preliminary rounds by winning the swimsuit and talent competitions, yelled out the word "rompers", referring to the popular one-piece outerwear that many young women wear, as time expired.

Miss Louisiana 2017, Laryssa Bonacquisti placed in the top 7 last night in the Miss America live televised finals aired on ABC.

Just because Miss Alabama is competing in the 2018 Miss America pageant doesn't mean fans should expect to see her finding love on The Bachelorette. Kinsey said because her father is a former police officer, she would not, but in the District of Columbia, she takes Uber rides, so it would be the driver's choice. She was involved in a number of activities with the most notable being her partnership with North Dakota Make-A-Wish to organize a fashion show to benefit make-A-Wish children. Laryssa was an intern for Congressman Pete Sessions in Washington, DC and plans to pursue a law degree following her undergraduate studies. A few people using motorized chairs were ushered away so Mund could pose in front of a nearby pageant marker. She has said she wants to be the first female governor of North Dakota. She also believed that the investigation into the collusion should continue.

"Whether you believe it (climate change) or not, we need to be at that table", she added. Helgeson said one of Mund's strengths is the interview portion.

The Miss North Dakota organization is going to hold a homecoming event for Mund, Richter said, but the details are still up in the air as they work with the national pageant and Mund's suddenly jam-packed schedule. Mund went to high school with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.

Meagan McDougall, director of the Miss West Fargo pageant, also made the trip, and said the experience was surreal.

"Once they called her name it was just chaotic and insane and I was balling", Miss North Dakota Outstanding Teen Sydney Helgeson.

So yes, Cara Mund - honest, unafraid, poised - will serve America well in the coming year. The state should be proud to be represented by someone with lofty goals and has already demonstrated her ability to help others.
