Jaguar 'Arrive and Drive' support series for Formula E

Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy debuts in Frankfurt

The Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy series is a support series for the FIA Formula E championship and will exclusively feature up to 20 all-electric Jaguar I-Pace racecars across 10 races in cities including Hong Kong, Paris, Sao Paolo and NY.

Retail sales in the calendar year to date were 401,565 (up 8% on 2016).

Jaguar has announced a racing version of its upcoming I-Pace electric auto at the 2017 Frankfurt motor show. Sales were up year-on-year in China (28%) and North America (13%), while remaining stable in Europe and in the United Kingdom (up 1% and 4% respectively).

Jaguar has said it plans to electrify all new models after 2020, part of a wave of similar announcements as governments in England, China and elsewhere have announced plans to eventually ban the sale of gasoline or diesel cars.

It's the first ever worldwide electric production vehicle series with drivers racing the all-new I-Pace.

Jaguar says the grid will be made up of 20 I-Pace race cars, piloted by drivers who have paid to enter the championship.

The I-Pace eTrophy all-electric series gives racers of the future a chance to showcase their talent, competing on the world stage in zero-emissions motorsport.

No date for the first eTrophy series race was announced by Formula E. The 2018-19 - season five - Formula E schedule has not been released.
