Chargers begin LA era against Broncos

McCoy is back as Denver's offensive coordinator, and to his credit, you could tell the former Chargers head coach had a pretty good game plan ready for the franchise he worked for over the past four years.

"And I just stuck my hand up and I felt three fingers on the ball", Harris said of his fellow defensive end and the blocked kick. The Broncos can't, and won't, count on field goal kickers missing chip shots the rest of the season.

Hopefully, we will get to see more of the offense at work in the first half.

While this should be a close game, we give a slight edge to the Saints. Trevor Siemian was poking holes in the Chargers defense.

Perhaps an even bigger reason for the Broncos' slide in 2016 was their inability to stop opposing run games. Can Joseph manage the game if the quarterback doesn't respond early?

Denver made some key adjustments after halftime and the Chargers only rushed for 58 yards. As it is I am not sure the Charger offensive line has improved a great deal.

The scoreboard showed just how impressive both teams looked Monday night. Broncos rookie CB Brandon Langley left in the fourth quarter with a knee injury and Stewart left in the closing minutes with a strained left groin after collecting six tackles. "Chargers 35 - Broncos 33". The one which didn't was the Chargers.

A insane stat in this game so far. That game set the tone of the year when the Chargers rallied from a 24-6 deficit, thanks in part to Stanley Richard returning an interception 99 yards for a score just before halftime. "I don't think that way". The Chargers were down 24-21 when they started their drive on their own 38-yard line.

Nine plays later, however, Los Angeles found the back of the end zone for the first time this season.

Denver is looking to get off to a hot start against a division foe in one of the strongest divisions in the NFL. The defensive line, padded by Joey Bosa, Corey Liuget and Melvin Ingram is unsafe.

"This is probably the most talented Chargers team that I've played against", Miller said. At least, that's what it looked like to me because it was going right down the middle. The Chargers are healthy. That's a good sign for the Broncos moving forward, although the defense will have to do a better job at keeping the big play in check. "We'll try to get better from it".

I wasn't sure about the Broncos hiring Joseph this offseason, having never been that impressed with the Detroit Lions' defense (one that had an off season past year too), but there was no question that the Chargers made a mistake in hiring Lynn.

Los Angeles' 24-21 loss to the Denver Broncos was a painful reminder that, despite playing in a new city, these Chargers are still the Chargers.

Trailing by 17 points going into the fourth quarter, the Chargers scored 14 points in little more than a minute after forcing Denver turnovers.
