Court orders Palestinian family out of home after 53 years

"We'll take these blocks and use them to build even more homes in eastern Jerusalem and elsewhere across the Land of Israel", Yosef said.

The Palestinians claim all of the West Bank, captured by Israel in the 1967 Mideast war, as part of a future independent state.

Throughout 2008-2009, Israeli forces evicted three Palestinian families from Sheikh Jarrah.

Eyal Raz, a leading activist who is close to the Shamasneh family, told the Post that this day marks the beginning of a wide-range campaign to kick Palestinians out of their homes and house Jews instead.

"What greater injustice is there than this?" The police told Shamasneh that he will be arrested if he tries to enter the house again. "Maybe we will sleep in the street".

After the eviction, Mohammad Shamasneh tried to break into the house through the roof, but was stopped by the police.

Let's go one step further and scrutinize Jews who have supported Congressman Keith Ellison who needed only a handful more votes to climb to the top of the Democrat Party as head of its control group, the Democrat National Committee (DNC). We will also speak about the move of the U.S. embassy to Israel's capital city Jerusalem.

The military order, signed last week, alters a 20-year-old agreement in Hebron's Old City, where several hundred ultranationalist settlers live in heavily guarded enclaves surrounded by tens of thousands of Palestinians. Some 2,500 of the more hardline settlers live in buildings bought inside Palestinian neighbourhoods, according to the Israeli anti-settlement watchdog Peace Now.

He accused the Israeli government of "trying to escalate settlements both in the West Bank and East Jerusalem to completely eliminate the vision of a two-state solution and any chances of establishing a contiguous and sovereign Palestinian state".

Shaath told Xinhua that Israel's escalation of settlement "represents the utmost disregard for worldwide legitimacy and all global positions and resolutions calling for the resumption of the peace process and against settlement".

With the mediation of the right-wing organization The Israel Land Fund, run by Jerusalem city councilman Arieh King, the property was reclaimed in an effort to expand the Jewish settlement in Sheikh Jarrah.

Under Jordanian rule, these properties were under the jurisdiction of the Jordanian Custodian of Enemy Property. The Hubaras then sold the property to another Jewish buyer.

In 2013, Israel's Supreme Court threw out an appeal by the Shamasnehs after a long legal battle.

The courts ruled that the Shamasne family has lived in the house since 1972, however the family claims it has been resident since 1964 (albeit without a lease for part of the period) and that therefore they can not be evicted under law.

The family's case was backed by pro-Palestinian rights groups and worldwide figures, including former US President Jimmy Carter.
