Concerned About Giving Money to Red Cross? Help Houston the Beyoncé Way

The comedian started an initiative to raise fund to help the Hurricane Harvey victims and urged fellow celebrities to make donations.

The Lemonade singer said she was working with her team at BeyGOOD and her pastor Rudy Rasmus of St. John's church in downtown Houston to help people affected by the devastating hurricane.

Beyoncé is planning to personally step in and help victims of Hurricane Harvey, many of whom are residents of her hometown of Houston. The city has experienced unprecedented levels of rain, and more is set to arrive over the coming days. "Your donations will help with the immediate needs and rebuilding efforts of my city", she wrote.

The "Lemonade" singer released a statement to The Houston Chronicle to announce that her charity BeyGOOD is now finalising a relief plan that will be implemented in the very near future. Degeneres says she's also going to give another $25,000 to the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) of Texas.

'My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so fearless and determined to do so much to help, ' Beyonce told The Houston Chronicle in a statement on August 29. He also reiterated that Beyonce was never flashy when it comes to her donations, adding that the singer has always been a blessing to them.

Beyonce is just one of several celebrities, including Ellen, Miley Cyrus and J.J. Watt, who have supported relief efforts by donating and raising millions of dollars.
