Jese Rodriguez looks set to make his Stoke City debut against Arsenal

The 24-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid, has signed for the Potters on a season-long loan just over a year after costing the French club nearly £22 million (S$38.7m). We have to swallow that and we should have scored despite that.

Arsenal travel to Stoke on Saturday aiming to carry on from last week's win at home against Leicester.

'I believe it's the kind of night when you are angry because not only did we not score with the chances we had, but we made stupid mistakes centrally [for Jese Rodriguez's goal],' said Wenger.

But Stoke moved in front within 90 seconds of the restart, Arsenal allowing too much space for Jese to play a neat one-two with Berahino before sweeping a first-time, left-footed finish into the bottom corner.

Jese, who had looked threatening even before his goal, was hailed by his manager Mark Hughes.

"You could put two defensive midfield players in - but Wenger won't do that". Eric Bailly scored in the first half then Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial all netted in a devastating four-minute passage from the 80th. But back-to-back 4-0 wins has sent a powerful early season message to its rivals.

Sadio Mane was on target for Liverpool with his second-half winnersecuring a 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace at Anfield and his side's first league victory of the season.

'He has the capacity to repeat runs and we noticed when we watched him play that he is quite risky in the final third.

Free-scoring, tight at the back, and confidence oozing through the side, Manchester United already might be the team to beat in the English Premier League.

The Potters lost their opening match 1-0 at Everton while Arsene Wenger's visitors started with an entertaining win over Leicester.

"Everyone is excited to see him play", Hughes told reporters on Friday.

"It was a hard job".

Stoke aren't as tight defensively as they were under the Tony Pulis regime, but they kept Everton to one goal last weekend and 23 of their 38 games previous year saw under 2.5 backers collect.

"I think we can give him a platform here to really enjoy himself".

"He doesn't point the finger at one individual but I feel that today Ozil should be doing more for his team".
