Two Killed In Shooting

The woman who was killed was a mother of six.

Nicola Tallant, investigations editor from the Sunday World, told Good Morning Ulster that Derek Devoy, the brother of Ms Corbally, was the target of the attack but he escaped.

Independent.ie has learned that Mr Shannon was from Swords, in North Dublin.

The shooting occurred on Balbutcher Drive in the Poppintree area.

Eyewitness reports say two men in balaclavas walked up to a house and fired a number of shots. Small plastic containers were also seen on the road, covering empty shell casings from the incident.

Yesterday's double fatality has stunned the neighbourhood.

The child was slightly injured, while two others - a man and a woman - are being treated in hospital. Moran received a gunshot wound to his leg while the teenage girl was grazed by a stray bullet. They rushed to the Mater Hospital where they were understood to have non life-threatening injuries.

One was a Laois registered silver Opel Zafira.

A Golf GTi, registration 06 LH 3466, was also found partially burnt out at Santry Close in the aftermath of the shooting.

At around 1am, prior to yesterday's gangland style shooting, a gunman opened fire at the door of a house in Belclare View, Poppintree.

It is believed the attack was gang related but not connected to the ongoing Hutch-Kinahan feud.

There were no reported injuries.
