Seahawks sign ex-49ers CB Tramaine Brock

Seahawks agree to one-year deal with former 49ers CB Tramaine Brock

Brock is familiar with the Seahawks after playing two games against them each year for the past seven seasons. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo has also confirmed the report and he said it's possible that Brock may agree to join the Seahawks after the meeting.

The Seattle Seahawks signed Brock and linebacker Rodney Butler, while waiving wide receiver Jamel Johnson and safety Jordan Simone to make room on the roster, the team announced Wednesday.

Jeremy Lane and third-round draft pick Shaquill Griffin are now vying for the starting right cornerback job opposite Richard Sherman, but Brock will be an interesting option if he can come to terms with the Seahawks. I have never put my hands on the mother of my children, as what has been publicly reported. "So that's why I stayed in [the relationship]". "But the process and everything is under the rug and I'm moving forward from that situation".

The Seahawks have an opening at starting right cornerback.

Rookie Shaquill Griffin started against the Chargers but it appeared Lane had moved back into the starting lineup with the base defense on Tuesday with Griffin coming in for the nickel. His size suggests he could be viewed as more of a nickelback by the Seahawks with the team typically preferring taller corners on the outside.

The seven-year veteran has 11 interceptions and 45 passes defensed in his career.

This will be Brock's eighth National Football League season after joining the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2010.
