Boateng to Frankfurt after Las Palmas exit

Boateng only spent one season in Spain following his move from Italian side AC Milan in 2016

Having extended their association with the Ghana worldwide by three years only in May, the La Liga outfit announced the abrogation of the deal on Wednesday, citing the attacker's "personal reasons of irreversible character" as the cause of the development.

Boateng is expected to reveal where he will be playing his football this season in the press conference on Wednesday.

"The footballer will offer this afternoon at the Gran Canaria Stadium, at 17.00 a press conference in the company of President Miguel Angel Ramirez to bid farewell to the fans".

"UD Las Palmas and Prince Boateng reach an agreement to rescind the contract that linked this entity for the next three seasons".

The La Liga club announced earlier that Boateng ended his contract just days before the start of the 2017-2018 season, reports Efe.

After commencing his senior career with Hertha Berlin, Boateng subsequently had spells with Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Portsmouth, AC Milan (twice) and Schalke.

"For this institution, all of the players in the squad are people first and professionals second", the statement read, explaining why Las Palmas were willing to let the 30-year-old depart.

He was rewarded with the new deal following an exceptional debut campaign.
