We expect good viewing conditions in Alabama and Tennessee next Monday afternoon; however, parts of Kentucky, Missouri and points northwest may have a tougher time with clouds and storms. Wednesday could be our first hot day since early in the month with mostly sunny skies pushing the temperature close to 90 degrees. Afternoon storms possible. Highs in the low-to-mid 90s. North wind 5 to 7 miles per hour. Rain chances will start off around 10 percent then build into the afternoon. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. There are a few heavier showers in Eastern New York State, but they are gradually weakening as the move closer to CT.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Heat index values may climb as high as 105°. North-northwest wind around 6 miles per hour.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly between 7 p.m. and midnight. Clouds will stick around with lows dropping down into the upper 60s. West winds 5 to 15 miles per hour in the morning becoming northeasterly in the afternoon. Partly sunny, with a high near 82.

Thursday Night.Mostly cloudy. Small rain chance. Mostly cloudy with a low around 72.

Any remaining showers will depart CT this evening.

Tuesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Rain and storm chances will go up for Friday and the weekend as a cold front moves in.

The current setup for eclipse day would bring a slight chance for clouds and showers into town. Highs on Tuesday will reach near 80, forecasters say.
