(Web Desk) - One of the world's most powerful offices is under renovation and the President of The United States may have to wait until 2018 until he's allowed to use the Oval Office.

According to the BBC, The West Wing- which President Donald Trump has denied calling "a dump"- is been gutted during the revamp.

All of the carpeting in the West Wing is to be replaced - at a cost of $1.17m (£903,800). The project was approved during the Obama administration.

The Roosevelt Room in the West Wing of the White House underwent renovations.

Signs of the renovations have dotted the White House for much of the last seven days.

Trump plans to remain on his working vacation until later this month, when he returns to the White House and prepares for a crucial September that is stacked with deadlines and legislative priorities.

West Wing staffers who aren't with Trump at his New Jersey golf course have been temporarily relocated to an office building next to the White House. He will return to NY that evening, this official said.
