Jose Mourinho Talks Amid Ivan Perisic Rumours

However, the article also now states that Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is growing increasingly confident that the Red Devils will be able to conclude a deal to sign Perisic before the close of the transfer window at the end of the month.

Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti says Ivan Perisic "is determined to remain" at the club amid renewed speculation linking him with Manchester United.

Perisic has been a summer target for Manchester United, but have so far yet to come to an agreement with the Italian club for the Croatians services.

The Portuguese told the media he is in no position to "moan" because the United hierarchy has provided him 75 per cent of his targets: striker Romelu Lukaku, centre-back Victor Lindelof and midfielder Nemanja Matic.

Woodward is said to have re-opened discussions with the Croatia star's agent Fali Ramadani in a bid to finally get the deal over the line, according to a report in the Sunday Mirror.

He made 42 appearances for Inter last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions.

Perisic has been linked with a transfer to the Premier League heavyweights all summer long, but Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho is unwilling to match Inter's reported £50m asking price for the winger.

While Perisic would not be viewed as a marquee signing, he is the type of player Mourinho loves.

We'll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming days but it looks like United could now be closing-in on the final piece of Mourinho's jigsaw and I think Perisic would be an excellent addition at Old Trafford.
