Bring on the Body Slams: Netflix Renews 'GLOW' For Season 2

The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling are set to return.

GLOW tells the fictional story of Ruth Wilder (Brie), an out-of-work, struggling actress in 1980s Los Angeles who finds one last chance for stardom when she's thrust into the glitter and spandex world of women's wrestling.

Netflix has renewed the ladies wrestling series GLOW for a second season, according to Deadline.

GLOW season 2 shouldn't be a surprise, but Netflix likes to make people wait for their confirmations, and that's what they did here.

An official release date for the series is yet to be announced, but Netflix have confirmed that it will follow an 10 episode format once more.

Jenji Kohan, who previously delivered Netflix another hit with OITNB, will be its executive producer alongside series creators and showrunners Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch.

It was praised by critics, receiving a 96 per cent approval rating from review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes. The show also stars Betty Gilpin, Marc Maron, Ellen Wong, Britt Baron, Kimmy Gatewood, Betty Gilpin, Rebekka Johnson, Sunita Mani, Sydelle Noel, Gayle Rankin, Kia Stevens, Jackie Tohn, and Britney Young.
