'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' Movie Review: Socially Relevant Entertainer

Toilet Ek Prem Katha Budget, Screen Count, Box Office Economics

Meanwhile Keshav's subdued attempt to get approval of a toilet inside their house from his conservative father Pandit ji (Sudhir Pandey) falls on deaf ears. The film promotes Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Clean India campaign.

Mubarakan actor Arjun Kapoor, who posted a hilarious video on Twitter about Toilet: Ek Prem Katha before the film released, tweeted again today and urged the fans and followers to watch Akshay's film. Keshav At 36, is still unmarried due to his "manglik" kundli, which can be solved only by his marriage to a buffalo.

Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 starts right after the first film. And of course there is the question of her thumb.

Never mind how Keshav gets past these problems, but as you already know from the trailer, he does marry her. However, the morning after the wedding Jaya comes to know that not only Keshav's house but the entire village doesn't have a single toilet. Here is the report of Toilet box office collections for the first day along with its occupancy report.

TEPK is a very unusual Hindi film. Will Jaya ever come back to his love? "But yes, we'd love to show it to him". Look at his filmography of late; all his films are not only different in genres, but also in style and treatment. The on-screen chemistry of Akshay and Bhumi is satisfactory, if not superb. The element of patriotism in Akshay Kumar's recent films such as Airlift, Rustom and Baby could not be missed. The dulcet voice of Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal makes it a must have on your playlist.

Most of the film's collection will depend on word of mouth and reviews.

Trouble in their paradise begins when Jaya discovers that she has to be part of a "lota party" at the crack of dawn.

If there is any doubt in your mind, I would like to flush it-yes, seriously-flush!

Anyway, a TV reporter specifically announces that the sarkar has built three million toilets in the past three years. Who knows anything of the India that existed before that year. The film opened better at single screens compared to multiplexes. Small mercy that Toilet stops at its devotion to notebandi.

Overall, this movie is a must watch and as of this writing, I am booking the tickets to watch this film one more time. Open defecation has been huge issue in our country and I am glad that film is made on this subject and I hope it can bring some positive change in the mindset of people about this cause.

While on one hand blaming the disadvantaged ghunghat-clad woman for her circumstances, the film repeatedly asserts that the Indian government is giving its all to the Swachh Bharat Mission.
