Dolphins Raekwon McMillan out for season with torn ACL

Jay Cutler could debut against the Ravens

This was not how Raekwon McMillan's first National Football League game was supposed to go.

It's now being reported that the Dolphins believe McMillan did in fact tear his ACL, which would cost the youngster the remainder of the season.

McMillan was taken in the second round with the 54th overall pick in the April draft after making 275 tackles in three seasons at Ohio State. This will set the Dolphins back on defense.

The Dolphins beat the Atlanta Falcons, 23-20. Miami could move Hewitt to outside linebacker while they place Lawrence Timmons in the middle. It could be the final play of his rookie year. Godchaux started alongside Ndamukong Suh against Atlanta and made his presence felt, as he has done on a regular basis in training camp. He arrived as a much lower-profile commodity - as an undrafted free agent in 2015 - and the Dolphins might now consider scanning the free agent market for help. Sheppard, 29, would be an interesting fit considering he spent two seasons with the Dolphins under their previous regime. "It's just tough to see a young player go down and not knowing what happened".

McMillan came to Miami as one of the top non-rush linebackers in this 2017 draft class. He finished his final season with the Buckeyes with 102 tackles and second-team All-American honors.
