DA Reviewing R. Kelly Police File After 'Cult' Allegations

Police report spurs call for R. Kelly investigation in Atlanta

However, it seems that this is truly only the beginning of Kelly's troubles, because Fulton County, GA chairman John H. Eaves has called upon the Georgia DA to launch a criminal investigation based on new evidence he has seen from the John Creek Police Department.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard confirmed he received and will review the Johns Creek PD file, but added, "We are not now investigating Mr. Kelly".

In his statement, Kelly called it "unlawful" for the government to interfere with citizens legally conducting business, and said public servants "should not target individual citizens for their own politically motivated purposes".

The singer is at the center of recent allegations that claim he is holding several women against their will in rented homes in Duluth, Georgia or at his Chicago recording studio.

Eaves has now announced he'll host a press conference Friday morning in Fulton County, where he's expected to announce a criminal investigation after new evidence was unearthed by law enforcement.

If he doesn't already know, R. Kelly needs to find out who John Eaves is. Three former members of Kelly's inner circle reported that he controls every aspect of the women's lives, including their diet, wardrobe, sleeping habits and sexual encounters.

"Today there is no investigation", Howard said. The woman, who authorities said had no visible injuries or markings, told officers she was "fine and did not want to be bothered with her parents because her father was threatening people".

Reps for R. Kelly had no comment on the matter.

Several of Kelly's tour dates have been canceled following the bombshell report, and the Fulton County Board of Commissioners has already requested that Live Nation cancel one show scheduled August 25 in the area.

Kelly himself said the allegations were a "bunch of crap," and his lawyer issued a statement saying they would be "working diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name".

DA Howard confirmed that there is no investigation of R. Kelly going on at the moment, but he would review the file from the police and then "proceed appropriately".

Of course Kelly and attorneys representing him have vehemently denied the allegations.
