Captured Cat May Be Rally Cat

In winning five straight games, St. Louis has scored a whopping 46 runs, including 29 in the first three games of their four-game home-and-home interleague series with the Royals.

Dexter Fowler hit a grand slam, drove in five runs and the St. Louis Cardinals finished a four-game sweep of Kansas City, 8-6, on Thursday night.

A board member with St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that they are confident that this is Rally Cat.

This cat wasn't even hustling all that hard, taking a fairly leisurely stroll out to center field, past an amused Lorenzo Cain.

A fluffy kitten has invaded the field during a Royals-Cardinals MLB game and it was far from a harmless experience. The team was trailing Kansas City by just one run, with Yadier Molina at the plate.

The cat became a social media sensation overnight, especially with Cardinals fans. Luke Hackmann, the grounds crew member summoned to retrieve the cat, took a few bites and scratches to his hand. Meanwhile, the grounds crew is busy making a plan for when stray animals go streaking.

"In the meantime, the Cardinals are looking to scratch and claw their way back to the top of the division standings", the statement said.

A big part of the Royals offense is getting the ball in play and running the bases aggressively; that puts pressure on the other team and Royals fans know how often their team capitalizes on an opponent's mistakes.

St. Louis got two of those runs back in its half of the second on a successful safety squeeze by Leake and a run-scoring single by Carpenter.

St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach reports that a cat bearing a strong resemblance to Rally Cat was caught in a trap at the city garden last night.
