Babysitters caught on Snapchat putting baby in refrigerator

In one Snapchat video the baby can be heard wailing while one girl places the infant horizontally on a refrigerator shelf

Police arrested two juveniles in MA this week after a Snapchat video shows them putting a 7-month-old baby in a refrigerator.

Police are continuing their investigation along with Essex County District Attorney's Office and the Department of Children and Families.

That's why they arrested and charged two juveniles with assault, child endangerment, and battery with a risky weapon. They were arraigned the same day in Salem juvenile court.

WCVB and CBS Boston aired these reports about the incident. The girls are both from Swampscott. Police investigated the incident on Monday after which the girls were arrested.

The video appears to show the girls laughing as they closed the door to the fridge with the baby laying sideways on a shelf inside.

They then say "bye" to the child and shut the door. Moments later, they open the refrigerator door and remove the baby. The video was time stamped at 4:37 p.m.

The baby is "home and with a parent and is doing well", Ambrose said. "We are not releasing any information on the child, the family or the juveniles".

The mother of the child left her baby in the care of her 15-year-old niece and her 14-year-old friend.

In an interview with NECN, the baby's mother, Bonnie Brogna, said she was away from the house for a little over half an hour when the Snapchat video was posted. These teenagers, I don't believe they did it to harm my child.

"They showed me the video and I was horrified", Brogna told NBC Boston.

"Be careful who you leave your children with. You can't trust anyone, not even your own family".
