18-Wheeler Spills Frozen Pizza Over Arkansas Highway

Around 1,000 frozen pepperoni pizzas spilled on to a major US road after a truck crashed into a bridge

Around 1,000 frozen pepperoni pizzas spilled on to a major U.S. road after a large truck crashed into a bridge.

A truck crash spilled frozen pizzas onto Interstate 30 in Little Rock, stalling traffic for miles in each direction.

I-30 was littered with frozen pizzas Wednesday afternoon after a tractor trailer carrying the food items crashed.

Officials say no one was injured during the accident that happened on Interstate 30 in Little Rock.

Highway officials in the USA state of Arkansas have been forced to shut down westbound lanes of an interstate highway for four hours so crews could pick up pizza.

"There's pizza sauce, there's cheese - you name it, it's out here all over the interstate", he said. The Arkansas Department of Transportation is using front loaders to pick up the pizzas.

Agency spokesman Danny Straessle said the bridge had only cosmetic damage.

The road, part of a major link between Dallas and Memphis, was shut for four hours as recovery trucks were seen scooping up the pizza.
