Krispy Kreme announces 2017 solar-eclipse themed doughnut

Krispy Kreme said it plans to offer a special solar eclipse-themed donut during the same day as the natural phenomenon - August 21.

But just like the eclipse itself, it isn't going to come close enough to the Granite State to cause too much excitement.

You've probably heard about the upcoming solar eclipse, but have you heard about the eclipse doughnut?

Customers can get an "early taste" of the eclipse-themed doughnut during "Hot Light" hours on August 19 and August 20.

"Even the "Hot Now" light can become part of the landscape". Krispy Kreme doughnuts can be found in approximately 12,000 grocery, convenience and mass merchant stores in the U.S. The Company has more than 1,300 retail shops in 31 countries.

Dark as the impending eclipse.

Some Hertz locations encouraged customers to book rental cars for the eclipse so they could travel to sites along its path.

"They are a great way to test new product ideas before launching them broadly, since new product introductions are expensive and the failure rate on new products is high".

"Similar to our hot, fresh doughnuts, the matchmaking of chocolate and peanut butter is a delicious combination that consumers have enjoyed for generations", said Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.

But there's a catch - you'll only be able to get it for one day.
