Whatsapp will soon allow its users to instantly transfer money via UPI

WhatsApp Android beta versions add UPI payment options

This feature in Whatsapp will hits soon.

In the new version 2.17.295, WhatsApp Payments is still hidden and under development, the blog reads. Upon clicking the account info of such a business account, users would see information like the Company's name (and whether it has been verified or not), their official email address, and a link to their website and other social networking sites (like Instagram or Facebook).

WhatsApp's parent Facebook had introduced peer-to-peer payments in 2015 and expanded its use to groups. For this, the users need to get v2.17.297 beta from APK Mirror and stop the app from auto-updating on the Play Store, said the report. It's likely that the feature may undergo several changes and improvements before the roll out to the public.

WhatsApp is working on a payment feature in the app and now a WaBetaInfo tweet hints that the feature may not be too far from the reality. Hindustan Times has reached out to WhatsApp for more details on this. In an effort to simplify the process, UPI payments were introduced, but the adoption is still on a slow track.

Currently, there are 50 banks who are members of UPI and out of them, 37 have developed their own UPI applications. Moreover, users can also recharge their phones and TataSky account.

Sending and receiving money digitally will no longer be limited to online banking or your bank's mobile app.

In beta mode, the feature worked in the similar manner as it does on iPhones. The app which has over a billion users worldwide has a large chunk of their users from India, with over 200 Million users from the country. The popular communication application, WhatsApp has widely offered the finest messaging services. While WhatsApp is intending to go up against Paytm by including the payment feature, Paytm is also taking the other course to pay back WhatsApp. Hike messenger, the Indian instant messaging app, launched UPI-based peer-to-peer payment service and digital wallet in June this year. This service would allow the users to communicate with specific businesses and receive update messages related to that particular service.
