Donald Glover Speaks On The "Surprising" Success Of "Redbone"

In an interview with BBC Radio 1, the Georgia native said he was taken aback by the melody's popularity. One thing that has been circling Glover has been, "When will we get a new season of Atlanta"?

Back in June, Donald Glover announced his pending retirement from the rap game, but a recent interview with BBC Radio 1 comes as an unexpected yet awesome update. "I'm not the type of person to rush anything. Like, it seemed like it just crawled in there... it's cool that people connected to it, I feel like that's exactly what you want to do as an artist". "So I'm not going to make anything until it's ready". But to be completely honest, it's nearly ready.

"I've been working on [new music] here", he explained. "You guys have been very instrumental in my music", he said.

He also said he's working on new music and has been drawing inspiration from his new surroundings. "London has been very inspirational". The oldest child is like, 'We know what's happening, but we are keeping you out of it.' And I'm just like, [Glover's voice rises several octaves] 'Was that scene good? "I don't spend as much time with [my son] as I want to", he says, "but it's because I want to give him everything". I feel like I was the baby in the divorce, or the youngest child.

On top of making music, Glover recently wrapped up the upcoming Han Solo movie, in which he portrays Lando Calrissian, but most fans are just eager to catch his Peabody Award-winning series, Atlanta, the second season for which is delayed until 2018.
