39 abducted Indians could be in Badush jail: Sushma

The Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has assured the families of all 39 Punjabi Youths who were kept hostage in Iraq by ISISI militants. their safe release after the Iraq authorities capture the Mosul.

Ms. Swaraj said Mr. Jaafari is scheduled to visit India on July 24 and may bring updated information about the missing men.

Since the operation to retake Mosul began nine months ago, 25,000 Daesh militants are reported to have been killed, an Iraqi commander said yesterday.

"Only after the area is cleared in Badush can we get more information about their location and their well being", she said, adding that she personally gave that information to the families of the missing Indians.

The Iraqi forces took control of eastern Mosul in January after 100 days of fighting, and launched the battle in the west on February 19.

"An official who quoted intelligence sources told Gen Singh that they were deployed for a hospital construction and then in a farm". Today she said that they are probably in a prison in Badush. There would be fresh information once the fighting in Badush was over, she added. "The information we have so far is that they are alive because we have no other information to prove that they are not alive", External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Gopal Baglay had told reporters.

"All the men were killed", said 62 year-old Umm Hamoudi, who fled the Midan district last week with 21 members of her family - all women and children.

The external affairs minister had written a letter to her Iraqi counterpart and it was handed over to him in Baghdad by Singh.

Meanwhile, Iraqi military forces paraded through Baghdad Saturday to celebrate the recapture of Iraq's second largest city from the terrorist militia.

Swaraj said, "The day Iraq PM declared Mosul is liberated from ISIS, I asked VK Singh ji to go to Erbil".

"The rough terrorism in the region is nothing separated from the United States proxy war and therefore, the terrorists' failure in major parts of Iraq, specially Mosul, is considered as the USA failure in the region and means victory of resistance (front)", General Jazzayeri said.

"We called family members of all those who were abducted in Iraq".
