Woman's body found in buck's party hotel room

Investigation continues into Melbourne CBD death

Four men are in police custody after a woman's body was discovered inside serviced apartments in central Melbourne.

Fairfax is reporting that one of the men woke up to find the woman, who has not been identified, dead in the shower this morning.

Police have released a description of what the young woman was wearing in the hopes that she'll be identified: a black long-sleeve shirt, blue denim shorts and white sneakers.

The men, in town from Canberra, were questioned before four were taken into custody and released overnight.

The woman found dead in a shower at a Melbourne buck's party was reportedly a member of the Australian Defence Force.

Police are testing for the presence of illicit drugs.

The woman's death is being treated as suspicious, but exact circumstances remain unknown, police said.

The group of men had travelled from the NSW and ACT for the party.

Two of the men who attended the buck's party claimed they thought they had been "stitched up".

While seven of the men, who police described as witnesses to the incident, left the hotel around 2:30pm on Sunday, the groom-to-be stayed behind.

Detective Nick Densley said an autopsy would be performed as soon as possible.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
