He said though the identity of the deceased militants was being ascertained, they belonged to JeM outfit. The police identified the slain terrorists as Parvez Ahmad Wani of Pahoo in Pulwama, Mukhtar Ahmad Lone of Harpura in Tral and Hassan Bhai, a Pakistani national. The encounter began after terrorists opened fire on security forces who were carrying out a search operation in Satura forest area of Tral early morning.

As per reports two militants were believed to have been killed in the encounter.

Sources said that Touseef Ahmad was picked up by police for questioning following inputs that he is in touch with the terrorists.

According to reports Security forces has launched another operation against militants at Aripal, Tral.

The intelligence report further suggested that several suicide bombers are now reportedly planning to strike the Valley.

Police has arrested two more persons along with Touseef for their links with terrorists.

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti met Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi today.

The operation came days after seven pilgrims returning from the annual Amarnath Yatra died and 19 others were injured on Monday night in an attack led by a militant in Kashmir. A pistol, ammunition, four grenades and a knife were recovered from him.
