"As a responsible and principled Opposition party, we shall be raising all these issues and many more", Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said.

In his address to floor leaders of parties in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, Modi sought opposition support in fighting the issue of violence done in the name of cow protection.

Monsoon Session of Parliament: Speaking just ahead of the beginning of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, Jaise varsha nai sugandh mitti mein bharti hai vaise hi monsoon satr GST ki safal varsha ke karan nai umag se bhara hoga.

Opposition parties have attacked the BJP over the cases of cow vigilantism, in which Muslims and Dalits have often been targeted. "We will raise these issues as nation wants answers from the government", said leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad.

The monsoon session of Parliament scheduled to begin on Monday is expected to witness heated debates, as a united Opposition is all set to confront the government on the issue of the Kashmir situation, the border standoff with China, agrarian distress, farmers' agitation, unemployment, economic slowdown, demonetisation woes, and a "flawed" GST.

"The state governments should take stern action such anti-social elements", Modi tweeted after meeting representatives of political parties ahead of the monsoon session of parliament starting on Monday. "We have identified all these issues which we are going to be raised in both the houses", he said.

"Every issue that affects national security and national interest is a matter of concern for each one of the 125 crore Indians".

Azad on Sunday said the government "closed all doors for dialogue" on it which led to "political suffocation" in the Valley.

"He (Prime Minister Modi) also expressed concern over the flood like situation on the north-eastern part of the country and asked the state to take action to provide relief to the people", he said.

Meanwhile, the polling for the President election is underway at the Parliament and the various state Assemblies.

Few of the important bills that are likely to be introduced in the monsoon session include GST-related bills for Jammua and Kashmir, The Banking Regulation (Amendement) Ordinance, 2017 and The State Banks (Repeal and Amendment) Bill, 2017.

Modi sought opposition support in curbing the violence that "has an impact on the image of the nation".
