Manchester City's Nolito to have Sevilla medical

City beat Barcelona to sign Nolito last summer for £13.8m but he has fallen out of favour with Pep Guardiola and grown unsettled in England.

However, the 16-time capped international's former side look to have missed out on his signature, with a deal in place between City and Sevilla for a fee in the region of 8 million Euro.

The Spaniard started brightly at the Etihad with three goals in his first three matches, but he soon tumbled down the pecking order under boss Pep Guardiola.

Nolito was spotted in Spain last month close to the club's stadium as he reportedly met with club officials to discuss personal terms.

Nolito has made no secret of his desire to return to Spanish football, and Sevilla is a good move for the player, with the transfer helping his chances of making Spain's World Cup squad.

Nolito had another three seasons on his City contract but said in May that he was "crazy about returning to Spain".

Having been burnt previously by Sevilla on loans, Manchester City have been determined to get a permanent deal, even if that's at a reduced price.

The arrival of Nolito adds to those of Luis Muriel, Ever Banega, Guido Pizarro and Sebastien Corchia.
