Just days after she exposed the VVIP treatment being enjoyed by the former AIADMK general secretary, VK Sasikala inside Bengaluru prison, the top cop D Roopa has been transferred by the state's Congress government. Meanwhile DIG Roopa, while talking to leading channel said that she has not received any transfer order as yet.

Siddaramaiah said she could have approached any of her superiors about her charges against senior officials and that her allegations before the mainstream and social media has brought embarrassment to the police department.

Siddaramaiah said he has ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter.

Siddaramaiah government had issued a notice to Roopa for going to media with her allegations about special treatment to Sasikala at Parappana Agrahara Central prisons. DIG Roopa, who exposed corruption in Bengaluru central prison and pointed to Rs 2 crore alleged bribe by AIADMK chief V K Sasikala to jail officials, has been shifted to road safety and traffic. She says that she is willing to co-operate with the probe all the way, but insists that it be thorough and fair. I suggested that there should be details and addresses of the prisoners and if possible, cross check the address. Sasikala, also known as Chinamma, was sent to jail after she surrendered before a trial court in Karnataka capital.

He denied giving special treatment to Sasikala or accepting any bribe.

DG Prisons, Satyanarayana Rao, who retires this month-end, has called her allegations "wild and baseless". The report also mentions that this office is adjacent to the office of a female jail superintendent. She reportedly also found efforts to destroy evidence by way of dismantling of facilities, breaking of CCTV cameras and making some cameras dysfunctional.

The case came to light when DIG of Prisons D Roopa in a letter submitted to the state government accused the Director General of Police and Inspector General of Prisons Sathyanarayan Rao and other city jail officials for taking the money and providing Sasikala with a private kitchen and other facilities.
