2 terrorists killed in ecounter with security forces in J&K

The police identified the slain terrorists as Parvez Ahmad Wani of Pahoo in Pulwama, Mukhtar Ahmad Lone of Harpura in Tral and Hassan Bhai, a Pakistani national.

Security forces have begun search-and-destroy manoeuvres in high-altitude areas to pull the Kasmiri rebels out of their dens and destroy them.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Muneer Khan while confirming the killing of three militants said operation has ended. The security forces are going after militants as part of operation "hunt down" and on the basis of a "hit list" of militants. "Against just 200 posts, there were more than 5,000 youths who wanted to serve the nation", he said. "The operation is in the final stage and the identity of the militants is being ascertained". Sources said terrorists used a cave as their hideout but were later killed in the firing.

According to reports Security forces has launched another operation against militants at Aripal, Tral.

"I hope some more will be eliminated", he added. "The terrorists were hiding in the hills of Tral, and during the search operation took position behind rocks, and one of them inside a natural cave", said an Army official.
