John McEnroe Just Can't Apologize For Sexist Serena Williams Comments

Williams has already made it clear she is determined to return to the tour next year, with Margaret Court's all-time record of 24 slam singles titles an obvious goal.

John McEnroe has proposed a men v women contest to prove his claim that Serena Williams would be ranked "700 in the world" on the men's circuit.

Serena Williams is without doubt one of the most lovely and accomplished living women in the world, and she's magnified that with a sensational nude photo shoot for a magazine in which she shows off her burgeoning baby bump.

McEnroe was given the opportunity to apologise during an appearance on US breakfast show This Morning on Tuesday (27Jun17), but he declined, stating, "It wasn't necessary".

"Why don't you combine ... Am I having a baby?" she said. The news came just before the Australian Open, which she ended up winning.

"I never thought really that was something, to mix the apples and the oranges", he said. "She's - I think she was doing a tongue-in-cheek as well".

Retired tennis player John McEnroe will not retract the comments he made against Serena Williams nor will he apologize for it.

"If I were a man, I'd have been considered the greatest ever a long time ago", Williams said.

Ace tennis player Serena Williams, who is now six months pregnant with her first child, flaunted her baby bump for the latest cover story of Vanity Fair magazine.

"Dear John, I adore and respect you but please please keep me out of your statements that are not factually based", Williams wrote on Twitter. McEnroe won seven major titles.

Talking about her pregency, Serena told the magazine that she was completely taken aback by her pregnancy and took six home tests before believing she was expecting her first child.

The 35-year-old athlete talked in the interview for Vanity Fair about how she discovered she was pregnant and how her relationship with Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, is working out.

McEnroe also said people ask him all the time if he thinks he could beat Williams.

"I would hope that I would win against Serena", said Tursunov in an interview with the BBC.

After noticing changes to both her game and her body, Serena's friend, Jessica Steindorff suggested in January that the sportswoman took a pregnancy test, but the tennis champion was convinced it would be negative.

When she saw the results, Williams revealed, "I did a double take and my heart dropped". But at any rate, I believe I have some ability left and I had pride when I played.
