Hot dogs from the sky! Oscar Mayer debuts WienerDrone

Oscar Mayer Adds New Vehicles Drone to WienerFleet

The practical applications of a hot dog-shaped drone that can only fly for 15 minutes?

Everyone is familiar with Oscar Mayer's classic wiener on wheels, the Wienermobile, but now the company has unveiled a new, expanded fleet of wienermobiles!

Since overhauling its recipe last month (promising to remove all added nitrates and nitrites, by-products, and artificial preservatives), the company has found fresh ways to deliver frankfurters to hungry folks across the country.

The device comes with four rotors and it carries the hot dog in a cardboard box with a net on its mid-section. Spotting the Wienermobile was (and is) a thrill, partly because the red and yellow wagon was one of the few places to get the coveted Oscar Mayer Wiener Whistle.

Oscar Mayer set the new standard for hot dog quality by announcing a major recipe overhaul across its total portfolio on May 1 of this year.

The Wienerrover is most likely what astronauts leaving the International Space Station en route to Mars would take with them. While the WienerDrone can carry one hot dog per delivery, the WienerCycle has a sidecar which serves as a warming compartment for the sausages.

The head of marketing said in a news release that these vehicles show that the brand is "committed to going where other hot dogs can't". I have also seen the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile cruising around the streets multiple times growing up.
