Trump tweets of witch hunt amid Russian Federation probe, bashes Hillary Clinton

Trump is under increasing pressure on the Russian Federation probe.

President Donald Trump says it's "sad" that seven months of investigations and hearings into possible links between his campaign and Russian Federation have been fruitless.

"The message the President is sending through his tweets is that he believes the rule of law doesn't apply to him and that anyone who thinks otherwise will be fired", she added.

But as the legal rope has tightened, his allies have gone on the offensive, questioning the credibility of the special investigator Mueller, a respected former Federal Bureau of Investigation director who served under Republican president George W. Bush.

"He's driving this", the White House official said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss West Wing internal deliberations.

"We may have our differences, but we do well, in times like these, to remember that everyone who serves in our nation's capital is here because, above all, they love our country", Trump said.

The business dealings of President Donald Trump's son-in-law and trusted aide Jared Kushner are being investigated by Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller, the Washington Post reported Thursday, citing officials familiar with the matter. But Rosenstein, too, may ultimately have to hand off oversight given his role in Trump's decision to fire Comey.

USA TODAY previously reported that the FBI was investigating Kushner for his contact with Russian officials, but there was no word at that time that his financial dealings were part of the probe.

An aide to Vice President Mike Pence revealed on Thursday that he was hiring Richard Cullen - a veteran of the Iran-Contra investigation, Watergate and the 2000 vote recount in Florida - as a private lawyer.

The order from the general counsel for the transition team casts a wide net on documents that could shed light on ties between Trump's presidential campaign and representatives of Russia's government.

The department would not comment on the record on whether Trump, who has repeatedly complained about leaks on the case, requested the statement. The memo asks for preservation of electronic communications and data, telephone logs, audio recordings, videos, calendars and other items.

Yet Trump's angry tweets on Friday underscored the near-impossible challenge his advisers and legal team have in trying to get him to avoid weighing in on an active probe.

Pres. Trump says being investigated by "man who told me to fire the FBI Director!"

"They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story".

Trump wrote, "You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history - led by some very bad and conflicted people!"

As Attorney General, Jeff Sessions' job in the Trump administration is to protect Donald Trump, but with the news that the Attorney General may have perjured himself in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Intelligence Committee, the problems are piling up quickly.
