Rajinikanth will enter politics, says Hindu Makkal Katchi leader who met superstar

Explaining his visit to Rajinikanth's residence, he said that leaders of farmers from other States, during a meeting in Delhi recently, had asked as to why Tamil Nadu ryots had not approached the actor and asked him to shell out the sum he promised. When we asked Rajinikanth to enter politics, he said he is in preparation for the same. So is this a confirmation that Rajinikanth will soon enter politics? However Rajinikanth, while speaking to media persons said that he did not discuss anything about politics with Arjun Sampath and it was just a courtesy meeting.

On Sunday, the 66-year-old received a delegation of farmers from Tamil Nadu led by its leader P Ayyakannu, the president of National South Indian Rivers Inter-Linking Farmers Association. "He said that he would feel guilty if he ends up not doing anything".

The farmers leader further said, "Rajinikanth assured support to farmers on all issues faced by them". His statements had created flutter about his political entry but series of meetings that Rajinikanth is holding is adding fuel to the speculation. He wants to change the system.

In response, Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah had said "all good people" were welcome to join politics and added it was up to Rajinikanth to decide. Weeks after asking his fans to "prepare for war", hinting that he might consider joining politics, the Kabali star told the visiting farmers that their plea to link up rivers will be represented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and pledged Rs one crore in this regard.

It may be recalled that in 2002, while taking part in a fast demanding the release of Cauvery water, Mr. Rajinikanth had said he would donate Rs. 1 crore towards the cause of interlinking rivers.
