Once all five men were under arrest, deputies said two of the suspects admitted to attempting the armed robbery.

A wild video captured an outmatched Sarasota, Florida, homeowner confronting five burglars and coming out of the ordeal no worse for the wear.

The sheriff's report says the homeowner was able to disarm the suspect allegedly carrying a shotgun. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said the homeowner "feared for his life", so he retreated to his home's interior and retrieved a machete for self-defense. Four men wearing dark clothing were found inside the vehicle, one of whom was carrying several zip ties. The other suspects have been identified as Roberto Salcedo-Balanza, Angel Cabrera-Basulto, Ronier Jauregui-Lorente and Jorge Leyva. The victim told police more suspects were involved and police located a vehicle matching a description of the suspect's vehicle and four more suspects were apprehended.

As the men enter the porch around 4:45 a.m., armed with the gun, a machete and a crowbar, the homeowner jumps out of a patio chair he was sitting in, grabs the chair and flings it at the group, who are off camera.

All five men are in custody at the Sarasota County Jail without bond. Valido-Leyva and Salcedo-Balanza face two counts each of principal to armed robbery.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending, according to the sheriff's office.
