Fans line up early for Warriors celebration

Oakland triumphant as parade set to celebrate NBA's Warriors

Fans go insane as Clay Thompson starts the parade out on Broadway during the Golden State Warriors NBA championship parade and rally in downtown Oakland, Calif., on Thursday, June 15, 2017.

The brothers took turns climbing on top of a water cooler to see over the crowd and jumped with delight as Curry's bus went by.

Oakland recently learned it's losing one of its other beloved teams, the Raiders, to Las Vegas, and the city is still reeling from a police scandal and mourning a deadly warehouse fire.

On this respect, the team management will need to become aggressive on their recruitment plans to attract talented veterans and young recruits to make for the new team core.

The Warriors have 10 free agents this summer, including Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, but neither superstar sounds as if he's going anywhere. "It looks like it was easy, but guys like Steph Curry welcoming him and kind of let him shine _ it worked out like it should", Myers said.

They get to celebrate Curry, fellow guard Klay Thompson, Coach Steve Kerr, and finals MVP Kevin Durant, who unlike the others will be in his first championship parade.

Kerr still found time to crack a joke on the stage afterward: "Well, we had very little talent, actually, it was mostly coaching". The Thunder had a 3-1 lead over Golden State before the Warriors came back to win the series in seven games.

Another NBA season concluded this past Monday, when the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games in the 2017 NBA Finals.

"I remember exactly where I was this time past year, and it wasn't a great feeling", Curry told the crowd at a rally after the parade. "As we go into talks and this whole process - which is obviously new for me - I will approach it as getting the most I can as an individual, as a player, something I've been working for a very long time". The Warriors also had a near-sweep finish when they won a 3-0 lead in the first 3 round in the finals before beating the Cavs in Game 5.

"We've overcome a lot of doubts", said Tulio Zelada, 28, a San Francisco resident who described himself as a Warriors fan since elementary school.

Following a swirl of reports to the contrary, the Warriors said earlier this week that no decision had been made on whether the team would accept the traditional invitation to visit the White House.

Draymond Green kisses his son.

LeBron James is the best basketball player in the world, and he was the underdog on a team that featured an Allen Iverson-type player in Kyrie Irving.

Green addressed the super team chatter while addressing the crowd just days after Cleveland's LeBron James - who played with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami - referenced that he had never played on a super team. This is amid the trend in the National Basketball Association when LeBron James joined Miami Heat with All Star players such as Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade in 2012, where James got his first championship.

In addition to LeBron's ridiculous totals, he assisted on 42.5 percent the Cavaliers made baskets and had a higher Player Impact Rating (PIE) than Durant. The parade wound through downtown Oakland, where fans in Warriors shirts and hats cheered their favorite players.

"Maybe he doesn't (invite us) and we don't go, or we don't say anything and make a big deal of it and he doesn't make a big deal of it and we go our separate ways", Iguodala told USA Today when asked of a potential White House visit. "You've got people of every race, color, religion, creed, whatever, and everybody's just coming together and loving this team". Guber said "seal it", the Warriors would be back here next year celebrating.
