Ex-Jets WR Eric Decker agrees to join Titans

Eric Decker

Decker (6-3, 214) adds another proven receiver to a group loaded with potential.

Decker, 30, spent the last three seasons in NY after four with Denver. He's been with the Denver Broncos and New York Jets, where he's total 385 receptions and over 5,200 yards for his career. Three times he has had more than 10 in a season.

Receivers Eric Weems and Tre' McBride will also be looking over their shoulders in camp with the two rookies and an established veteran such as Decker joining the fold. All signs point to Decker having potential for another respectable season. I'm curious to see what role he begins to occupy with Decker now on the team and just how secure his spot is on the roster. He suffered a partially torn rotator cuff early in the season, limiting him to nine receptions for 194 yards and two touchdowns in 2016. Considering Decker's age and injury-played 2016 and Davis' inexperience, Matthews remains a candidate to repeat as the team's target leader.

Eric Decker signed with the Titans after visiting last week, and that move led to the team waiving Bra'Lon Cherry on Monday. "The whole visit was to get to know him, and make sure he is healthy".

The Titans clearly liked what they saw, and heard. General manager Jon Robinson continues to find help for quarterback Marcus Mariota, who was enjoying a big year before breaking his leg in late December. "So until he is, and all means I wish him the best. I hear he's a real football junkie who wants to be great, and that's so important".

Also returning is Tajae Sharpe who is coming off foot surgery and Tre McBride and Harry Douglas amongst others.

It is not too surprising that Decker will playing for the Titans this season since he and his wife already own a home in Nashville, Tennessee.
