President Trump is going after Hillary Clinton in some new tweets.

President Trump cited the probe into Hillary Clinton's emails as a key reason for her not to be trusted with the presidency. The Post reports Robert Mueller, the special counsel appointed to oversee the investigation into Russian meddling in the USA election, has launched a probe into Mr Trump himself.

"A follow-up tweet from the president said "Crooked H" destroyed phones, "'bleached' emails", and Bill Clinton met with Attorney General Loretta Lynch days before Hillary was "cleared" of any wrongdoing in the scandal involving her private email server.

The allegation relates to reports that Trump sought to persuade former FBI Director James Comey to shut down the agency's investigation into Michael Flynn.

The House and Senate Intelligence Committees are investigating Russia's meddling in the 2016 campaign, including possible collusion between Trump associates and Moscow. "Nice", he wrote in reaction to a Washington Post report alleging he is under investigation for potential obstruction of justice.

During an event in New Hampshire, Trump said his opponent would be under investigation "for years" - something the country would not have time to navigate should it want to improve.

Trump added: "You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history - led by some very bad and conflicted people!"

The widened Russian Federation probe could have far-reaching repercussions for Trump's presidency, transforming his closest aides into witnesses and sucking yet more political oxygen out of the West Wing. Trump rhetorically asked in a tweet.

A spokesman for Trump's personal attorney, Marc Kasowitz, ripped the Post's report Wednesday: "The FBI leak of information regarding the president is outrageous, inexcusable and illegal".
