Qatar Row Reveals Saudi False Pretense of Commanding Unity: Iranian Official

Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said Tuesday before a meeting with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that Qatar's ports and airports are open.

Trump last week waded into the worst Gulf Arab rift in years and praised the pressure on Qatar, which Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain accuse of supporting Iran and funding Islamist groups, charges Doha denies.

"I want the American people to realise that they are trying to intimidate a small country which has the closest relation with the United States", Baker said.

Striking a careful balance, Erdogan stopped short of directly criticising Saudi Arabia's actions but called on Saudi King Salman to show leadership by solving the crisis.

An embargo has also cut off food, transport and other links between the four countries and Qatar, which typically imports around 80 percent of its food from its neighbors.

An exception is made for private planes and charter flights to or from Qatar, which require permission to transit through the airspace of the three countries, the statements said.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards, a powerful branch of the country's military, vowed revenge for the attacks and blamed them on longstanding regional rival Saudi Arabia.

The tensions between Saudi Arabia and Qatar continue to escalate following the former and its allies severing ties with the Gulf state.

The emirate is the world's largest producer and exporter of liquified natural gas, but the wealthy emirate also relies heavily on imports for food staples and raw materials.

Qatar said the official news agency which reported the comments was hacked - and on June 6, USA officials told CNN that USA investigators believe Russian hackers were behind it.

Thani insisted that Qatar was eager to take part in "dialogue based on clear foundations" over the split, and would discuss anything related to Gulf security.
