Katy Perry Scores $25 Million Pay Day For American Idol

EXCLUSIVE: Andy Cohen Thinks John Mayer's New Music Is About Katy Perry: 'Doesn't Take a Rocket

But apparently, ABC has a lot of faith in the show's revival because recently announced judge Katy Perry will reportedly bank $25 million.

The blonde bombshell, 32, has now released a short video, where fans even get a glimpse of a new track on her highly-anticipated album.

The "Firework" singer is set to earn $25 million from ABC as a judge on the recently revived reality singing competition, TMZ reported.

The "American Idol" season 8 finalist shared with ET Online during the ASCAP Pop Music Awards in California that Perry will be a great addition to the show. "If ABC ended up announcing the show without a judge, they'd be screwed", a source told the website.

Perry released a statement regarding the opportunity, "I am honored and thrilled to be the first judge bringing back the American Idol tradition of making dreams come true for incredible talents with authentic personalities and real stories".

Amusing story, in 2012, Perry turned down a $20 million dollar offer for the same gig.

The network was keen to secure a big-name ahead of last week's "upfronts" presentations in NY, leaving Perry with "all the leverage", TMZ reports. I mean I know you can see me. It is also notable because it is $10 million more than both Ryan Seacrest and Jennifer Lopez made on the original series, with Seacrest raking in $15 million a season during the show's peak, and Lopez taking that amount home while she served as a judge.

"American Idol" aired for 15 seasons from 2002-16 from Fox, with the final year being billed as the show's farewell season.

Like Walt Whitman and Kylie Jenner before her, Katy Perry wants you to know that nothing is quite what it seems at first blush.
